Harlem’s Neil Patrick Harris Offered Freakie New Role

July 19, 2014

neilpatrickharrishwofsept2011Ask and ye shall receive. Sort of. Neil Patrick Harris made it known he wanted a role on FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show, the fourth season in the series from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Then Murphy offered him one on Twitter.

Harris told EW Radio that he wrote Murphy a letter asking to be in the FX series and it went unanswered…until now.

“I wrote a letter to Ryan asking if I can be in it, even though I wasn’t even available to be in it…I just love those series and Coven was fantastic…to do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch. Can’t wait!

Murphy responded to Harris and said, “[O]f course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you’d love.”

Will it actually happen? Who knows!

American Horror Story: Freak Show stars Jessica Lange as a purveyor of one of the last remaining “freak shows” in Florida in the 1950s. Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy and Michael Chiklis also star.
