Harlem Rep. Espaillat Statement In Recognition Of National Small Business Week 2018

Today, uptown Congressman Adriano Espaillat issued the following statement in recognition of National Small Business Week and in appreciation of the important role small businesses play in New York’s 13th congressional district and throughout the nation.

“I am proud to recognize the thriving small businesses throughout my district,” said Congressman Espaillat. “There are more than two million small businesses, including more than 702,000 women and minority owned businesses in New York City that have created over 113,000 new jobs while contributing to the strength and vitality of our community.

“As a Member of the Small Business Committee, I am proud to have worked in a constructive and bipartisan basis on legislation promoting the Small Business Growth Accelerator Fund to support small businesses providing services to underserved communities, such as women, veterans, and economically disadvantaged individuals; as well as the Accelerated Payments for Small Business Act that would ensure prompt payments to small businesses rely on to fairly and equitably pay their employees and subcontractors.”
