From Run for the Roses to the Catwalk, Harlem Derby will be holding its Uptown Runway event in Harlem, NY.
Uptown Runway is a fashion and style driven event created by Harlem Derby to give emerging designers and models a platform to showcase their designs and talent. Harlem Derby is thrilled to be hosting this New York Fashion Week Event in the heart of Harlem.
Kamourandco founders and sisters Mila Kamara and T. T. Kamara are two of our featured designers. Mila was discovered along with her daughter Habiba by photographer Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York for their like mother, like daughter matching outfits fashionably called Nsu Bura prints from their line. Mila is currently featured in VOGUE and has over 50,000 Instagram followers. We are looking forward to seeing more of Kamourandco on the runway.
F. by Francesca, founded by French designer Francesca Isa a Harlem resident, built her creativity in Paris on a very eclectic experience in fashion, theater, music, and interior design. She will wow us with her very creative accessories.
Harlem Derby is set to introduce fashion designers who are ready to see their blueprint emerge on the runway and into our closets.
Harlem Derby, was founded in 2013 by Kentucky born Rob Owens and New York born Annette Harris both Harlem residents, to spotlight the contributions & achievements of African Americans in thoroughbred horse racing. Harlem Derby’s annual gala, “Run for the Roses” is held the first Saturday in May to honor and celebrate the Black Jockey. “America’s First Athlete.”
