Expanding beyond a physical presence, Harlem Biospace (Hb), an initiative of NYCEDC, is launching a free online digital platform, called Synaptic, that enables you to discover life-science resources in NYC, and connect to individuals interested in life-science commercialization. More below.
Since opening two years ago in November 2013, Harlem Biospace (Hb) has provided an affordable wet-lab space for 32 companies, and served as a physical nexus for early-stage biotech investors, entrepeneurs, and strategic partners in NYC. More information is available about current members and recent graduates of the lab on Hb’s Synaptic – NYC Life Science Digital Platform
- Publicize Your Lab or Venture: Synaptic allows you to quickly create a modern website for your lab or company with a custom domain. You can manage listservs of current and past lab members or share public announcements with followers. Examples include Junco Labs and Celleritas Bioscience.
- Discover Affordable Equipment and Facilities: Create a directory of your lab equipment and schedule time slots among lab members. If you don’t have your own equipment to share you can access resources across the city at core facilities.
- Hire or Offer Freelancing Services or Jobs: Reduce the time you spend seeking specialized talent for your firm or ventures. Post full-time, part-time, and contract work or if you are seeking your next opportunity, you can search the database of current openings in the field and communicate directly with the employer.
- Stay Up to Date on Biotech News with “Biotech Pulse”: Stay in touch with current trends in life science through Synaptic’s curated feed of news and resources. Shared articles span technical publications, investors’ columns, and news articles relating to life science. Join the dialogue by posting your own content, commenting, and voting on your favorite posts.
