september15cropBorn Bright: A Young Girl’s Journey from Nothing to Something in America is a memoir that explores the meaning and shifting narratives of black girlhood and womanhood in a contemptuous America. Author C. Nicole Mason, PhD and Vanessa DeLuca, Editor-In-Chief of ESSENCE Magazine, will be in conversation and the evening will feature a reading by Charlene Carruthers, Executive Director of BYP100. Following the event will be a reception and book signing.
