Tren’ness Woods-Black, Nikoa Evans Hendrick And Beth Shapiro Deliver Citymeals On Wheels (Update)

November 14, 2017

On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, Tren’ness Woods-Black (Sylvia’s Restaurant), Nikoa Evans Hendrick (Partner, Sexy Taco Dirty Cash) and Beth Shapiro (Executive Director, Citymeals on Wheels) delivered wonderful specially prepared meals to the homebound elderly neighbors in Harlem.

Delivering meals in Harlem included 75-year-old Georgia and 80-year-old Alice, as a part of Citymeals on Wheels’ Chefs Deliver initiative.

More than 200 meals were specially made by Sylvia’s, Sexy Taco Dirty Cash and Babbalucci. Sylvia’s Restaurant cooked up fried chicken, mac and cheese, and cornbread; Sexy Taco Dirty Cash prepared coconut chicken and jasmine rice; and Babbalucci dished up some pasta with meatballs and roasted carrots.

Woods-Black participated in this delivery as a part of her longstanding support of and involvement with the organization, which she is getting recognized for with an award at the Citymeals on Wheels 31st Annual Power Lunch for Women. Taking place on Thursday, November 16, the luncheon brings together 400 leading women in the fields of business, technology, arts, politics, and entertainment at the Rainbow Room to support Citymeals on Wheels, and is expected to raise $1.2 million, which goes directly to the preparation and delivery of meals for homebound elderly New Yorkers.
