Some key politicians spoke at the service beginning with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, New York Governor Cuomo, New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio and New York City Police Commishinor William F. Bratton. When Mayor Bill De Blasio appeared on the screen outside, many Police Officers turned their back to the screen. Some Police Officers have been disappointed with the Mayor’s actions and comments during the various protests in New York City after the decision in the Eric Garner case, which has been vocalized by Pat Lynch of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association.
