Okay, you’re sitting at home in Harlem, waiting for a great end of summer event! Well, get ready, because beginning Tuesday, September 26, 2017, the Presidents Cup Fan Experience will take over The Oculus at the Westfield World Trade Center in New Jersey.

This brings fans and the Oculus’ 469,000-plus daily commuters all of the excitement of the 2017 Presidents Cup right into the heart of New York City – free of charge. Fans, visitors and commuters alike will be immersed into the global aspects of the Presidents Cupp with multisensory experiences, celebrity appearances, a global tasting adventure, golf simulator challenges and more. The Presidents Cup – a team, match-play competition featuring 24 of the world’s top golfers—will be held at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey, September 26 – October 1, 2017.

“The Presidents Cup Fan Experience is going to be one of the most integral elements of our week-long celebration of global golf,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. “Thanks to our partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Westfield, fans, visitors and commuters who walk through the Oculus will be able to experience the excitement of the Presidents Cup like never before in one of the most iconic locations in the world.”

The spirit of the Presidents Cup will capture the attention of New Yorkers passing through The Oculus from the first step inside. The ground floor of The Oculus will be adorned with images of each participating player, and will be filled with a variety of interactive programming the whole family can enjoy. Open to the public from Tuesday through Sunday (11am – 7 pm daily) of tournament week, with live broadcasts from the GOLF Channel and NBC throughout, attendees of the Presidents Cup Fan Experience can additionally look forward to:

4D Immersive Dome Experience – Comedy Central’s James Davis, who will be onsite at the experience on opening day for a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 11 a.m., takes attendees through the iconic backdrop of Liberty National Golf Club from the perspective of a golf ball in Par for the Course. Davis, host of the just-completed first season of Hood Adjacent, is an avid golfer and is the voice of the film’s main character. The dome experience will allow for up to 40 seated participants for the just-shy of six minutes short-film. The immersive nature will be a surprise for viewing participants.

Global Tasting Adventure – Celebrating the international aspects of the Presidents Cup and its players, fans can eat and drink around the world at the global tasting adventure enjoying culinary and spirited offerings unique to the home countries of each of the Presidents Cup players. Beaver Tails from Canada, Venezuelan Arepas and Fried Chicken Wings from South Korea are just a taste of what to expect.

Citi 44 Million Yard Challenge – The culmination of a mobile, interactive engagement for New York and New Jersey residents, taking place in the weeks leading up to the Presidents Cup. As part of the Citi 44 Million Yard Challenge, fans and golf pros alike will work together to collectively drive a golf ball virtually around the world – 43,825,760 yards to be exact – by hitting golf balls in golf simulators virtually through the streets of Manhattan, as well as by engaging on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #Citi44MilYards. Each use of the hashtag will be equivalent to hitting the ball 1,000 yards and progress of the challenge can be found by visiting: Come out to help virtually drive a golf ball around the world – or just post from home- and show us that you’re up for the challenge. There will be three simulators at the Oculus as well as two in Citi’s corporate offices at 388 Greenwich and in Long Island City. Onsite at the tournament an additional simulator will be in the Citi Cardmember Lounge as well as several in the Fan Interactive Zone by the main tournament entrance.

Interactive programming – Fans will have the opportunity to see and hear live updates from Liberty National Golf Club; take part in meet-and-greets and autograph signings with dignitaries from the world of golf and beyond; and track social engagements and fan moments captured on state-of-the-art LED screens, including a multi-screen social hub that follows the Citi 44 Million Yard Challenge and aggregates Presidents Cup social posts. In addition, there will be a television set for live interviews that will air on Golf Channel, ESPN Deportes and Sky Sports. Interview subjects include the 2017 World Golf Hall of Fame induction class and some all-time greats like Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.

Official merchandise – The Presidents Cup Fan Experience will be the only location where fans see and touch – and purchase – limited-edition merchandise, outside of Liberty National; LACOSTE, the official apparel provider of the Presidents Cup, will be prominently featured in the event space, as well as at their recently opened retail store at The Oculus.

“This has been such an exciting year for golf around the globe and I’m truly excited to witness and participate in this year’s Presidents Cup festivities taking place next door to one of the most diverse cities in the nation. I think this will be a huge week in the effort to bring more people to golf. This year’s Presidents Cup is going to be LIT!” says Par for the Course main character, James Davis.

The Oculus opened in August 2016 and serves as the centerpiece of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, incorporating 450,000 square feet of multi-level, state-of-the-art retail and dining. The World Trade Center Transportation Hub’s concourse connects visitors to 11 different subway lines; the PATH rail system; the National September 11 Memorial & Museum; World Trade Center Towers 1, 3 and 4; and Brookfield Place (formerly known as the World Financial Center), which houses the Winter Garden.
