HW Pick: TV One’s Announces Lexus Verses And Flow Season 5

ATA_1916TV Onebrings back the message and the melody to performance art with season five of Lexus Verses And Flow premiering on TV One on Thursday, July 30th at 10PM.

Filmed over four, star-studded nights in Los Angeles filled with performances by internationally renowned recording and leading spoken word artists. This season’s musical guests include Avery Sunshine, Charlie Wilson, Chrisette Michelle, Estelle, Jazmine Sullivan, Jussie Smollett, Leela James, Melanie Fiona, Raekwon The Chief (pictured), Assassin, Sevyn Streeter and B.o.B. Sure to be one of the most electrifying seasons to date, viewers will be presented with distinct, lavish episodes of spoken word and song, setting the tone for shows curated to delight the senses.

Lexus Verses and Flow is the NAACP Image Award-nominated variety show blends electrifying musical and soul-stirring spoken word performances from mega-watt music stars alongside more than 25 of the best up-and-coming poets in the U.S.  Actor/personality Laz Alonso (The Mysteries of Laura) hosts.  Previous performers have included Maxwell, Ledisi, and Jill Scott, among others.  For a look at the Lexus Verses And Flow experience, check out the sizzle reel HERE

The fifth season of Lexus Verses and Flow also brings the return of the Lexus Verses and Flow Scholarship. Presented in partnership with ten of the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities, two students per institution will each be awarded a $5,000 scholarship in recognition of their community leadership and academic excellence.
