Union Settlement, East Harlem’s oldest and largest social services provider, will celebrate 123 years of service in East Harlem at its annual spring benefit fundraising dinner tonight at Guastavino’s in Manhattan. The “Empower East Harlem” Benefit will convene hundreds of New York City’s business, civic and community leaders, as well as elected officials and honored guests, to support Union Settlement’s mission and service to the East Harlem community.

During the benefit, Union Settlement will honor Arthur A. Klein, President of Mount Sinai Health Network and Ranjini Pillay, Senior Managing Director of Teneo Capital. Union Settlement will also recognize corporate partner CORE and law firm partner Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP for their ongoing support. WNBC-TV weather anchor Dave Price will serve as master of ceremonies for the event.

The event will celebrate East Harlem’s vibrant cultural diversity by showcasing stories from the community and featuring music from local East Harlem musical group Annette A. Aguilar and the StringBeans.

“For over 120 years, Union Settlement has enjoyed serving the wonderful East Harlem community by providing a range of services that empower New Yorkers of all ages with opportunities to better their lives,” said David Nocenti, Executive Director of Union Settlement. “We’re honored to celebrate the vibrancy and success of East Harlem this evening with so many friends and supporters, including our honorees who all exemplify leadership in public service and serving communities in need.”

The “Empower East Harlem” Benefit will be held tonight, Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 6:30 pm at Guastavino’s in New York City.

Dr. Klein also oversees national and international initiatives for Mount Sinai and serves as Executive Vice President of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Executive Vice President of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Klein is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology and has written extensively on pediatric cardiology.
