common in harlem1Lonnie Rashid Lynn, also known as Common, was born March 13 1972.  Fast-forwarding 2 decades, he debuts his first album Can I Have A Dollar? and grows exponentially throughout the 90’s.  

Common grabbed his first Grammy alongside Erykah Badu for Best R&B song “Love of My Life” in 2003.  Since then, one might trip over the list of successful albums and films Common has released and or been a part of.  Most recently winning the 2015 Golden Globe Award for Best Song and Academy Award for Best Original Song in a movie he also co-starred in, Selma (2014).  Common has proven himself to be one of the forefront performers on this planet.
