Beyoncé And Ivy Park Partner With Figure Skating Nonprofit In Harlem (Video)

April 19, 2018

Atlanta Black Star reports that after giving fans the performance of a lifetime at Coachella, Beyoncé continues to make headlines. The “Lemonade” singer donated $100,000 to four HBCU’s on Monday and then Tuesday, April 17, 2018, her clothing line dropped a video collaboration with Figure Skating in Harlem, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping girls.

The world-renowned singer featured the skaters in an advertisement for her sports/athleisure line “Ivy Park.”  Sharon Cohen, who founded the organization in 1997, told Vogue “we believe that, given access to artistic sports like figure skating, girls will soar in all areas of their lives and be better equipped to accomplish their dreams.” She continued,”Beyoncé is a fierce, authentically powerful woman of color. She inspires young women and girls globally who look just like her to do the exact same—to be fearless, free, and proud of themselves.”

Here’s the video:

The nonprofit requires all students to make good grades and live in Harlem, Upper Manhattan or the lower Bronx.
