A Message From Our Friends At Harlem Fashion Week 2017

August 14, 2017

Harlem Fashion Week is the fastest growing, most innovative independent fashion show in NYC. According to the IFC, The Independent Fashion Calendar, “Harlem Fashion Week has been raised from number 8 last season, to number 4. Proving that this young fashion week is growing”

Harlem Fashion Week bridges the Downtown fashion hub to the Uptown vibe for an explosion of culture. It is both a reflection of the rich cultural history of Harlem and a projection of Harlem’s multicultural transformation in the 21st century. HFW pays homage to the past with an expectation for the future.

As a result Harlem Fashion Week has created New markets for New York Fashion Week to grow and Flourish! Last New York Fashion Week season Alexander Wang, Stella McCartney and Nike VLone released their new collections in …. Harlem!

Harlem has always been the home of culture and style from Zoot Suites to urban wear by Dapper Dan to African Ankara wear by Yvonne Jewnell. Harlem is Fashion. And as Harlem is being revitalized in the 21st century Harlem Fashion Week is there to create a platform for the next installment of cutting edge fashion!

As HFW grows it creates opportunities for business to grow by creating a new demographic of people to come to Harlem to celebrate Harlem Fashion Week. Our sponsors have been vital in providing the resources to make Harlem Fashion Week a success!

One of our main sponsors is Direct Print Inc. Since before Harlem Fashion Week began Direct Print has supported every business venture of Yvonne Jewnell New York, the parent company of HFW. Direct Print is located on 125th street in the heart of Harlem and is responsible for all our print work, from our bags to our banners. Direct Print provides professional service with a personal touch.

Harlem Shake owner Jelena Pasic took a chance on us in our Very First season, she sat down with this Mother-Daughter team of Tandra and Yvonne and had faith that we were building something great. Starting something new is scary and Jelana gave us a chance and that was inspirational!

Every season Harlem Fashion Week is known for its absolutely phenomenal VIP swag bags; that is primarily due to our main beauty sponsor SheaMoisture, Diane Bailey the brand ambassador for SheaMoisture never hesitates to support HFW and this year is no different. SheaMoisture will be in those swag bags again this year.

We have many sponsors who have supported the growth of Harlem Fashion Week and we would love to add the name of YOUR company to the list.
